PAST SUCCESS STORIES
We are often asked for updates on our four-legged friends. Nothing pleases us more than to share their happy tails. Here are just a handful. (Click on the photo to see their update)
LIBERTY came from the Lancaster Shelter in CA. She was not only petrified and shaking in her kennel but she was also pregnant.
This was a special rescue for START as it took a great deal of team work to get LIBERTY out of the shelter and to safety. She gave birth the day after she arrived in WA to 8 healthy puppies who all eventually found homes.
Today, LIBERTY is loved very much by her new family and she even has a 4 legged brother to play with every day.
CHARLEY CHOW was living rough on the streets of LA, begging for help and food. START rescued him and he went to The Willamette Humane Society in Oregon where he got a wonderful home with a student who adores him.
LAVERNE was struggling to survive on the streets of LA. She was starved and sick and very scared. She was rescued by START and went on transport to SEVADOG RESCUE in Eugene, OR. She was adopted into a loving home and they simply adore this goofy girl.
FONZIE was not “Cool.” He was sitting in a kennel at the Riverside Shelter and was very sad and unsure of his future… But how life can change in an instant! He was picked for transport and went to Oregon Dog Rescue where a lovely couple came in to adopt him. FONZIE has only ‘Happy Days’ ahead of him now and wants to give two paws up and say a giant “HEY!”
CHLOE sat frozen in fear at the Devore Shelter in CA. She was rescued and found comfort with a retired couple in LA who saw her photo and knew she was the perfect fit for their family. CHLOE is quite the madam now with her own bed, many toys and two loving parents to protect and love her.
MOCHA came from the Lancaster Shelter in CA and was very sad and sick. He was rescued, vetted, and travelled over 1200 miles to find his forever family in Washington State (WA) where he now rules the roost!
MIDNIGHT was rescued from the streets of LA after witnesses reported he was kicked and beaten. He went up to Oregon where he was placed with an active family who have sons on a soccer team and MIDNIGHT has become the team mascot.
CANDY was on her last day at the South LA Shelter. She was a volunteer favorite and got lucky enough to go on transport to Oregon. She was placed in an active home and has another 4 legged brother to play with and act goofy!
TYRESE is one of those dogs that knew he was rescued. He is so grateful for the love and attention he receives and is currently loving his new family who spoil him on a daily basis. If dogs could speak he would say: “Oh boy, did I hit the jackpot!”
HOUDINI was originally from The East Valley Shelter in LA and had already been signed off for Euthanasia. We were fortunate enough to get him out in time, and this lucky boy went on transport to The Willamette Humane Society in Oregon where he performed his best ever trick… He found a forever home!
GENTLE BEN was found in the High Desert after being dumped. He was in very bad shape and had already given up hope. Good samaritans brought him to our attention and he went straight to the vet where he had a lot of health issues.
After much TLC, GENTLE BEN thrived and all his wounds healed. GENTLE BEN was so gentle, calm and loving that he won the hearts of everyone he met. He found himself a wonderful home in Oxnard, CA where he has a family who adore him.
GAIL had been abandoned and ended up at a high kill shelter. She was rescued and went on transport where an active family fell in love with this sweet girl.
