We were contacted by Shafter Critters on Facebook about a sweet 4month old pitty baby named Popeye at Shafter Animal Control that has an injury to his right eye and a cut on the bridge of his nose. The eye can not be saved and will need surgery to remove the eye. If the eye is not removed it will cause him great pain and pressure from the swelling. Popeye also has incorrectly cropped ears and is on the thin side only weighing 20 pounds. He is a very happy boy that is sweet and loving. His injured eye doesn’t stop him from running around and playing. We saw his video and we could not leave him there as the Shafter Shelter was full and since he is injured…he did not have long!!! THis is the video we saw of him in the shelter” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VU_i5yRCSs0
So… our amazing team members The Stoney’s drove up to Shafter, CA and rescued him today. They are fostering him until he hops a flight to one of our amazing rescue groups, Snipped. www.Facebook.com/Snipped. They have offered to do his surgery and find him a forever home! He already has application in waiting for him.
If you pledged to save Popeye…THANK YOU! All pledges will go towards his foster care/vet costs etc. until he can be sent up north and the rest of the pledges for his surgery & aftercare once he gets to Snipped. Now that Popeye is safe, if you pledged or would like to donate…now is the time. Please put “For Popeye” in the memo….very important that you do this so we know where the donation is to go to and so we know how much money to match. Please send the pledges via PayPal @ firstname.lastname@example.org
Alternately you can make a donation right here on our website! Thank you!!
